Tejaswani Priyadarshani, a 14-year-old woman from Rourkela, Odisha, has designed an associate degree innovative device that offers a full new dimension to a bicycle by permitting it to race within the air.
This "air bike" instead of using pedals works by pushing the air. This bike can run up to a distance of 60km, with the help of the 10kg compressed air cylinder that is mounted on the bike. At a time when the entire world is trying to deal with global climate misery by reducing the use of fossil fuels extracted from resources such as coal, oil, gas, gasoline, and diesel; it has opened up greater possibilities of using wind and solar energy. Tejaswani's innovation came on the scene at this time to save the environment.
When Tejaswani, who is a class 10 student from Saraswati, Sishu Vidya Mandir from Rourkela, visited a bicycle repair shop and saw mechanics using air guns to untangle the knots in a bicycle tire. Her father helped her perform this experiment. They bought an air tank with an inlet to fill the water after going through various experimental processes. The tank was equipped with a measuring dial. To release the excess amount of air, a starter knob and a safety valve were also connected. The machine works when the knob is on. After which the air from the cylinder is transferred to the air gun positioned near the vane which helps to rotate the gear with the help of six different sizes of vanes. It also sets the cycle in motion. This technique can also be involved in cars and motorcycles.
People with disabilities can also use this bike. For her brilliant invention, Priyadarshini has also won several accolades. When Charity world spoke about the beginning of the Priyadarshini school, Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Mr. Sunil Kumar Patel, said that we ask our children to work on different science projects every year. The best project was Tejaswani. With her, this project her father as well as the school teachers helped her immensely. Your project will be exhibited at various state and national exhibitions.
