I am Himanshu Bakshi, And I Stand Tall Despite My Short Height

Sometimes some people mistakenly consider people with physical disabilities to be people who cannot contribute to society in a meaningful way because of their disability. Take the example of my life, which is full of challenges every day. Whenever I leave my house, I see people who laugh at me and make cheap comments. I have even witnessed an educated woman point at me and tell her son that if he did not eat, he would be converted.

To begin with, I am Himanshu Bakshi, Chartered Accountant, LLB (6th Semester Result expected) and Business Graduate. I am currently associated with one of the big 4 consulting firms. You may be thinking what is special about me. I am a perfect example of someone who has turned a disability into an opportunity. With my great willpower and dedication I have shown the world that nothing can stop you if you have great willpower. I have always believed that strong determination and willpower is much more important than a strong body.

I suffer from dwarfism. My height is 3 feet 8 inches. This disease is seen in one in every 25,000 people. I have never been demotivated by the "different ability" that I suffer from. Life has been a roller coaster for me. I lost my dad when I was in my final from CA. That has been the lowest point of my life. My dad wanted to see me as a Certified Public Accountant. I fulfilled his dream, but the day it came true, he was not in this world. My mom is the biggest pillar of inspiration for me. I know the value of my efforts as I wrote most of my exams while standing for 3 hours as the benches were too big for me.

As the saying goes, if God takes something from you, He replaces it with something you never imagined. That is evident in the case of my life. I am also a national topical polemicist. I have participated in many television shows and have been writing articles for many newspapers. I have been giving inspiring lectures to people from all walks of life. I always believe in this quote from the father of our nation, “Strength does not come from physical ability. It comes from an indomitable will. "I always feel good when people come and say 'Salaam Zindagi' to me. In my previous organization I was awarded the Inspirational Person of the Year award. I was also featured in the renowned fashion magazine MAXIM, which also featured in its anniversary edition, I have received awards from many renowned personalities like the late Mr. Jagjit Singh (famous Ghazal singer) and others.
